This was another amazing Date Night recipe I tried for my husband and I one night. When we decide to eat alone after the kids are in bed we often pick a spicy dish. Well this Spicy Sriracha Chicken and Rice Bowl hit the spot that night! I have to admit I’ve never even had Sriracha before. I’m not sure if it’s the same thing as Frank’s Red Hot Sauce, it seems the same, but who cares it was good! If you like it really spicy feel free to add some more Sriracha to the sauce. If you would prefer it less mild, just add less. I even measured out my portions and made it Beach Body 21 Day Fix approved. I used 1 1/2 Red and 2 yellows for this deliciousness! Honestly I love any dish that is topped with green onion! I’m kind of obsessed with them. Try some of my others dishes that is topped with green onion:
Skinny Chicken and Veggie Stir Fry
- brown rice, 1 cup
- ¼ cup EVVO
- 1 pound Chicken Breast, trim into bite sized pieces
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 tbsp. of fresh lime juice
- ½ cup Sriracha (add more if you prefer)
- ¼ cup Honey
- Black Pepper
- Garlic Salt
- ½ cup Green Onion, chopped
- Cook rice according to package directions and set aside.
- Sauté onion using the olive oil for a few minutes until softened. Add chicken & cook until browned flipping a few times using a fork or pair of tongs.
- Whisk together lime juice, honey & Sriracha sauce in a bowl.
- Add the sauce & simmer uncovered for about 8 minutes, until chicken is cooked through. Stirring often as the sauce begins to thicken. Season to taste with pepper & garlic salt.
- Finish with a handful of fresh green onion. Serve over brown rice.

I love that you can be creative with this dish, you can serve it over noodles, quinoa or sauté a bunch of vegetables and skip the added carbs. The next time I make it I’m going to try and add some veggies to it like broccoli or peppers! Don’t skip the onions because I think it made the dish, that’s why I think if you sneak in some other veggies in there it would be even better!
Sounds really good – thank you.
