I was destined to make a chicken nugget that my daughter would eat! Yes I confess, she loves McDonald’s chicken nuggets, you can blame that on Daddy! So one Sunday I pulled out the chicken nuggets I bought that week and I came up with this recipe, low and behold Madison loved them!!! I even packed them for lunch and sent her off to school with a piece of fruit twice that week! Freeze the rest and you have your very own home made chicken nuggets, I fried these ones (I had to start somewhere with her, since she ate these, next time I’m going to bake them!
Ingredients:
1 pd of chicken nuggets (or chicken tenders cut into bite size pieces.)
1/2 cup of bread crumbs
1/2 cup of egg whites
Oil for frying
1/4 cup of shredded parmesean cheese
Salt & Pepper for seasoning
What I did:
Set up a station. Filled a bowl with the egg whites. Filled another bowl with the bread crumbs, parmesan cheese, salt and pepper mixed together.
Heat oil until it starts to smoke (a very little) dunk the chicken nuggets in the egg white, roll it in the bread crumb mixture, pop it into the oil, I made maybe 6 per batch.
Have a plate with a paper towel ready, it’s easier to transfer the finished nuggets to let the grease seep out.
Use your favorite dipping sauce, Madison likes ketchup or sweet and sour sauce, I think the dipping does it for her!! I’m so excited I was able to make something she loved that doesn’t come from McDonald’s!
I may be making this recipe for myself!!
