Dear Drew – From baby to toddler…just like that.

Happy 15 mths

My sweet boy. I can’t even tell you how fast time is slipping away. You are already 15 months old. I can’t even say the words without tears coming to my eyes. Your personality is developing with every day that goes by. The summer has come to an end and we are entering Fall now. You had such an amazing summer, you learnt so much. You have officially mastered walking even though I catch you crawling from time to time! I was in no rush to see you walk, I’d keep you at this age forever if I could because it’s my favorite age. I love watching you discover things, your giggle is one of the most beautiful sounds I’ve ever heard! You are feisty but sweet at the same time.  You still love being held, or maybe it’s because I’m in the kitchen a lot and you are always wondering what I’m making on that counter you can’t reach yet.

Summer Days

You went to the beach beach for the first time and had a blast! You crawled all over the place. We spent many days at the camp with the family. Then I snapped this picture, which was the last day I spend with you alone before Mommy went back to work. Originally I was going to keep you home on Mondays with me but then work picked up and I decided the extra day would be good for you and mommy. So we went to the farm and picked some fresh berries. We had a few naked days this Summer, one was at camp due to a blow out! Another was at 5 am in Mommy’s bed eating cherrios when you were on your 5 am kick! The other, well I’m savoring this picture because your no longer drinking from a bottle and I will forever miss that last snuggle of the night with you.

Naked Days

Putting you in daycare was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make baby. However it’s been so good for you. You love it there, I drop you off and you don’t even look back. I still get two days during the week home with you and I now treasure them more than I ever did. I love planning play dates for you and Madison, I love the lazy days where we snuggle on the couch and stay home and I love the days where the three of us just take off and do whatever! Here you are at your very first Grandparents Day at school. Nunney and Memere get to come visit.

You are saying Maddie, Daddy, Nunney, TT, you’ve said Mommy but you won’t say it these days! Your favorite thing to do is eat! You still love to eat my friend. You also love the playroom these days, you’ll go and play with Madison, dumping things over and making a path of destruction that has mommy cleaning it for at least an hour when you both are finished! I don’t care though, as long as you have fun! If I toss a blanket on the floor, you come running and roll around with me on it. I love that. You giggle, jump and roll all over it with me. You are such a love bug. You are also a little monster, a good thing your cute kind of monster. You are into EVERYTHING these days. I’m still waiting for Daddy to put the child locks on the kitchen cabinets, your favorite thing to do is go through the tupperware draw and my spice cabinet! You love to climb up and on anything, you go and see Nunney whenever the dining room door has been opened, you can no longer go and play on the playground set without me because you are climbing up EVERYTHING, including the slide! You seriously have me on my toes every second of the day so when Daddy gets home at night I am BEAT. The last time I went upstairs real quick to grab something I came down to you eating grapes I had thrown away in the barrel, you are officially a barrel picker! Some would say you are a typical 15 month old, some would say your a typical boy. I’d like to say typical boy because Madison was a lot more slower than you. She never had any interest in getting into much, I barley had to lock anything. Hey your keeping me young baby boy.

I’m not looking forward to watching you become a toddler, I’d like to keep these baby days forever but I want to teach you everything you need. We talk a lot about words these days. You’ve learnt to fight back with your big sister! You actually scream at her when she takes something from you now.

I don’t know what else to say my bug, you are growing up before my very eyes and there is nothing I can do but sit back and enjoy it. I love you bug a doodle. Here is the view I get before I close my eyes each night.
