I know friends who are here with me in New England are dying for a piece of Spring. Just a glimpse. We got a quick 8 hours of it last week, and then exactly a week later we got more snow………another foot. Hey what’s another foot. Well come this late in the season I think anyone that lives around here will agree with me when I say they suck at plowing! Not sure if they are out of funds or not but my husband works in the City and commutes everyday. I hate knowing the roads are so horrible.
Anyways……oh sweet Spring where are you? We have a brand new house to enjoy. Two beautiful decks to break in. A yard my baby girl is just DYING to get at! Unfortunately along with all these new beautiful things to break in, we have a new patio set to purchase, deck chairs and of course Daddy is dying for a new grill. Boo deserves a swing set too. Oh the spending just never ends. Plus we have the camp to open next month too…..and a nursery to put together. Shall I go on? This is all Spring has to offer for this Momma. It’s ok. I’m ready. Bring it on.
I’m not sure if I’m looking forward more to having this baby or to just not be pregnant because I’m only on my 8th sickness of the year!! I guess when my body is pregnant I just can’t fight things off, so boo comes home with all of these little sicknesses, and I say little because well she’s little and these sicknesses only last a few days for her. Me, not so much.
On a brighter note, Easter is coming!! We are hosting our first family dinner at our new house, I’m excited, hope I’m not taking on too much because it doesn’t take much for me to get tired these days however each family member brings a dish so in reality I’m only making the Ham and Potatoes 🙂 I’ll have to share some great recipes with you next week that would make great dishes for Easter brunches or Easter dinner. At some point I’d love to do an Easter brunch, I love making brunch dishes, but for now I’ll save brunch for our annual Father’s Day.  A late Easter lunch, early Easter dinner works best for my family right now. Madison can wake from a nice nap (God willing) in her own bed and hopefully be happy, and also my cousin is a nurse and works the night before Easter so it’s nice that she can sleep in and still join us. This is our second year hosting, last year we hosted but it was at the clubhouse at our condo complex, though it was wonderful and spacious, it will be so nice to have it in our actual home. It’s the one holiday where I get together with the three cousins that I grew up with, they are like my siblings. Plus my cousin is expecting too, she is three weeks ahead of me so two new bambino’s are due in June for this family!! So exciting!!! So stay tuned for a nice Easter line up. Plus MM and I need to die some Easter eggs, that’s always a fun thing to do (NOT!) 🙂 But a must for me and my kiddo’s.
Let’s see what else is up with this Momma, well I’m currently working on trying to line up some great guest posts for the month of June and July. I’d like to take a few weeks off from writing and entertaining all of you lovelies so I can get through the 6 weeks of “Survival” after baby Drew is born!! Summer is one of my favorite times of the year. It’s also my favorite time to write and blog, call me crazy but nothing makes me happier than sitting in the sun and “working”. I love trying new grilling recipes, salads, and yes by July I’ll even be able to try some new cocktail recipes! Bring on the Sangria baby! Getting all of this ready consists of a lot of writing and cooking for this Momma so I hope I can get this done. I’d like to do a week of BURGERS and a week of SALADS. Remember I did a Salad a day last year? I’m doing that again because I’m obsessed with salads and after this baby is born, I think I’ll be living on them to loose the weight!! I’m also obsessed with burgers, I love making them homemade and I love making them different and healthier. So stay tuned for that. Who doesn’t like a nice juicy, flavorful burger!!!!??? OK now I want one.
I’ve got some great Featured Friday’s coming your way for Spring. I can’t wait, I’m also going to be doing a recap of some of my favorite Featured Friday’s too, well really not my favorite, but the favorites viewed by all of you!! These ladies are special to me they deserve to be recognized again! This Momma has got some great new recipes coming your way!!! So though there is still a foot of snow here, I will still say Happy Spring everyone………today is the first day of Spring after all.
