The Winter had been long and brutal. There have been many days where the kids and I have been trapped indoors due to feet, and I mean feet of snow outside. Don’t get me wrong the first foot or two I loved cooking up my favorite chili’s, soups and comforting dishes while my husband was home from work and the kids were running around. Then it grows old when my husband has had enough time off and has to truck it into the city no matter how much snow is out there. When the schools close at least once a week if not more than that. When your husband spends more time outside snow blowing and shoveling more than he is spending time with the kiddos.
Well day light savings time as passed, it’s currently 6:20pm here and it’s still light out, and a balmy 45 degrees is on the radar for weather this week! So I’m here to share ten of my favorite crock pot recipes to get your through the last of this brutal winter. Throw in dinner, set it, and get out and enjoy some fresh air! I’m all about convenience somedays, there are times when my kids are napping and I’d rather throw something in the crock pot and have it ready when my husband walks through the door. Or how about the days when you actually want to get out with the kids and you don’t feel like cooking dinner come 4pm when your finally getting home? I have those nights too, just because I enjoy cooking and I consider myself a foodie doesn’t mean there are nights when I just want dinner done come 5pm!
Here are ten of my favorite most delicious crockpot meals I can pass on to you. They have been prepared in my kitchen, approved by my family and then cooked again in my kitchen because they were so good!
Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie– A staple in every house. It’s easy and quick and just as delicious as if you were standing by the stove stirring away. Here you can make the crust topping two different ways!
Beef Stroganoff– Super easy to bring this beef dish together that is pact with flavor! Turn a classic dish into a quick dish!
French Onion Soup – Who doesn’t love a good French Onion Soup. I also made this at a party a few weeks ago, I served it with croutons and my guests choice of either shredded mozzarella or cut up pieces of provolone. It was perfect for feeding a crown!
Ranch House Pork Chops – On the days that you may feel like you want something “different” for dinner, this is the one! Set it and forget it and still have a flavorful piece of pork with sauce!
Crock Pot Chicken Satay Stir Fry – A dish that can satisfy your take out craving! Don’t spend the money and eat the wasted calories, make it at home!
Crock Pot Cashew Chicken – This dish is pact with flavor and proteins! Keep it healthy by serving it with Broccoli instead of rice!
Slow Cooker stuffed Pepper Soup – It’s the bite of a stuffed pepper inside of a soup! Let this soup warm you on a cold night, you know we have plenty of them left before Spring arrives.
Honey Mustard Ham & Beans – Make your Easter Dinner right in the crock pot! Yes trust me I do it every year it’s a great way to give your ham that smokey flavor and get a side of beans at the same time.
Beef Daube Provencal – This moist dish will leave anyone coming back for seconds, the beef has an amazing taste and stays super moist!
Crock Pot Mac N Cheese for a Crowd– This is an easy dish that will allow you to freeze some for another busy night. Are you having a playdate and you’d like to feed a bunch of kids, this is perfect for that as well! It’s easy and it’s a better version than the boxed stuff.
