So this Momma is pregnant. Pregnant Momma has cravings. A lot of cravings. Mostly something sweet once a day. Sometimes a bowl full of greens with ranch dressing. Even pickles, pickles and more pickles. Well one morning I woke up and craved oatmeal. Don’ ask. It’s an odd craving, but then again it can’t be as odd as pickles one hour and ice cream the next!
There is the boxed/bagged oatmeal, you know the artificially flavored kind, the kind that you need to eat two bags of just to fill up! Then their is the kind that tastes like cardboard, I throw in a few fresh strawberries and blueberries and it tastes a little better. Well I had this genius idea waking up with my craving one day so I had to share it with you because Madison stared at it, pushed it around on her spoon and even tried it!!! That is practically Madison approved!!
I’m going to give you the measurements that I had when I ate, but feel free to use the amount that works for you. I’m always wondering how to add more flavor or make homemade oatmeal taste better because I know how bad the artificial stuff is.
Ingredients:
1 Cup of old fashioned oats
1/2 banana
1 tbsp of brown sugar
2 tbsp of Craisins
1-2 tbsp of walnuts
1/4 cup of applesauce
What to do:
Make old fashioned oats the way you like it. I use boiling water but I know some people prefer to mix it with milk and use the microwave.
Top with your favorite toppings!
This looks yummy- another thing to make the WW points go up is the walnuts and craisins- they are very high in points but are filling (well the walnuts are lol)!!!
Yup, I saw the fat and knew it would jack it up, that’s the one thing I didn’t like about WW, nuts are a good fat and you always get penalized for those ones! Oh well can’t have it all I suppose! 🙂
I am cracking up because this pregnant momma also posted an oatmeal recipe on Thursday 🙂
