When I make a simple but really good recipe for my family I immediately think of #WeekdaySupper and how I just NEED to share it with everyone! This one reminded me of that “take-out” feeling, a dish you’d order while your out but you’ll spare yourself that “full” Oh my god I ate way too much feeling! There is just something about Honey and Garlic that really just go together, have you every realized that? With a dish like this or a marinade? They just belong together like an old married couple! The other best part about this recipe is it’s from one of my favorite weight watcher sites! I’ve been making Gina’s recipes for years, they are tasty but guiltless! Give it a try and serve it over your favorite salad the next day!
Serves: 6
Recipe: Skinnytaste
Ingredients:
2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breast
black pepper, to taste
1/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup tomato paste
3 tbsp rice wine vinegar
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp water
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp chili sauce
1 heaping tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1/2 tbsp sesame seeds
2 scallions, chopped
What to do:
Place the chicken in the slow cooker and season with black pepper. In a bowl combine soy sauce, honey, tomato paste, vinegar, garlic, 1 tbsp water, sesame oil, onion powder and chili sauce.
Pour over chicken and cook on LOW 3-4 hours.
Remove the chicken and shred with two forks, set aside.
In a mason jar or small container add the cornstarch and water and shake thoroughly. Add the mixture to the crock, mix, turn to high, cover and let thicken for 30 min. Add the chicken back to the crock, mix to combine. With some brown rice, a sprinkle of sesame seeds and a handful of chopped scallions, dinner is served!

Oh that is a crockpot liner!! I swear by them, sometimes I don’t even have to wash the crockpot!! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!! I’ll be making it again soon!
