We all know this Momma is not a baker, I like being able to sprinkle, mix, and sprinkle some more to make things taste just the way I like, well we can’t do that with baking because, well it just doesn’t work that way now does it? Well it doesn’t for me! So when I sat here wondering what kind of cookie to make I instantly remembered the awesome cookie cook book my best friend gave me for Christmas last year, I jumped up and ran to my kitchen with excitement! As quickly as I got excited, I got disappointed because I realized I had already packed up my cookbooks for the big move next month. I was yet stumped again. Then my monthly subscription to The Taste of Home came in the mail and when I saw “The Holiday Baking Guide” I couldn’t wait to see what they had to offer. Enter Candy Cane Blossom Cookies, I never knew these sweet little cookies had an actual name, you know those cookie rounds that have a Hershey kiss in the middle?? Well these ones have candy canes in them! They appeared easy enough for me to make, they looked cute and seemed VERY festive!
Candy Cane Blossom Cookies

pinch of salt
3 candy canes, finely crushed
24 candy cane, chocolate kisses or mint patties

Shape into 1 in balls; roll each ball in the crushed candy canes. Place 2 in apart on ungreased baking sheets.**
Bake at 350 for 10-12 min. or until bottoms are golden brown. Immediately press a kiss or patty into each cookie. Remove from pans; cool on wire racks.
**TO FREEZE: Freeze shaped balls of dough on a baking sheet until firm. Place balls in resealable freezer bags up to 3 months. Bake frozen balls as directed above increasing the baking time by 1-2 minutes.

Yes you are a baker! Look at these gorgeous cookies!
What festive cookies! I only wish I could eat mint…
I like minty sugar cookies, and the chocolate on top is the perfect ending!
What cute, cute cookies!!!
Great cookies! Can’t believe how many non0bakers there are. Everyone did a wonderful job!
I’m the same way…not really a baker as I like to do the “pinch of this…pinch of that” thing too! These look fabulous…
Beautiful cookies!
Gotta love chocolate and peppermint. And blossom cookies always look soooo pretty 😉
Don’t underestimate your baking abilities – these cookies look fantastic! And thanks for including the freezing instructions – I don’t (but should) freeze my cookie dough often and find myself guessing at how to bake them after they come out of the freezer.
That’d be great on a cookie tray!
My stepdaughter loves kiss cookies and she loves peppermint. This is the perfect cookie for her!
I hope she likes them Shelby, they are super easy to make too!!!
I love making blossom style cookies at the holidays! They were always one of my favorite treats as a kid!
These cookies look great! I’m not a baker either so I’m jealous of how good these look.
Those are the type of cookies that you make to give everyone the impression that you are a brilliant baker. 🙂 They look so festive and so pretty.
Love these! Thanks for sharing! I am not a baker either but you did an amazing job this week.
So festive looking, thanks for sharing on #SundaySupper
So cute, and such a fun combo of peppermint cookies and the “blossom” cookies with kisses on top.
Mmmm…love blossoms of any sort. I’ve never tried the candy cane variety, but since I’m on a complete peppermint kick lately – these are getting made soon!
I haven’t made blossoms yet but they seem pretty easy to make. These are so festive and pretty!
These look really yummy! My family loves making peanut butter blossom cookies. We will have to try these too!
